Gran Peninsula is the result of a market-driven strategic investment to meet the growing demand of services for larger yachts in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Management and ownership resides on the same team as our sister company, Baja Naval Boatyard and Marina. Since 1986, it has proven to be a reliable option for the yachting community in Southern California. Baja Naval has provided high standards of service in more than 7,700 haul outs for satisfied and many returning boat owners.

We have a clear focus on customer satisfaction and competitive pricing, plus state-of-the-art technology and current quality parameters. Located in the Port of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico (only 60 NM southeast of San Diego), Gran Peninsula is a formidable option for the servicing and refit of the 80 feet and above yachts that increasingly cruise from Galapagos to Alaska and Hawaii. Ensenada enjoys in all seasons a mild Mediterranean climate as is located well clear of hurricane activity.

Our core staff is comprised of full-time artisans and technicians that enable us to deliver top quality and cost effective service to our customers. When needed, we also support this team with local or international certified specialty labor. In order to complement our expertise and assure quick access to spare parts and new equipment, we also oversee a disciplined network of independent suppliers, vendors and consultants in Southern California and Florida. Mexico has no import taxes on boat systems or components and our own truck makes twice weekly trips to So-Cal.

Once the boat is hauled out on its cradle, it is rolled on rails through a Rolls Royce engineered Synchrolift transfer system. The boatyard has nine, 100m. long (330') independent and optionally covered, working spaces. No boat is blocked or has to wait in line for another to be hauled out or launched. We also provide temporary safe storage for tenders, furniture or equipment that is removed from the boat during the refit process.

Gran Peninsula also offers docking with 50-60 cycle electricity, city or drinking water supply and bunker fuel for large yachts with drafts up to 20 feet. We can also assist with the easy procedure to clear into the Port of Ensenada and Mexico.

Ensenada is a vibrant community well known for its mild weather, hospitality, gastronomy, craft beers, vineyards and agricultural products. Founded by Spaniards, developed by the British, with influence from French, Russian and Chinese settlers, and with thousands of U.S. visitors, Ensenada is a genuine cultural melting pot. It is home to several universities, three research and post-graduate centers (Oceanography, Nanotechnology and Bioengineering), and Mexico's largest astronomical observatory.
